One of the main reasons why people don’t keep up with their blog is that they just don’t know what to blog about!
In this podcast episode I’m gonna give you the top three easiest and quickest ideas for what to blog about to help make this process more doable. It’s time to stop spinning your wheels each time you want to post and have some automatic easy content to share on the blog.
#1- Client Results
You can turn this into a system and routine to give you automatic blog content each time you finish working with a client. What you decide to share in the post would depend on your specific industry.
The major benefit of having these types of blog posts is that it shows actual examples of what it’s like working with you and adds credibility to your business.
- For a design company like us: We share the final visual designs for branding and website design. We create specific client reveal graphics that are used on the blog and also social media as a part of our final files process. This basically turns the blog into a design portfolio of our work.
- For a Travel Business: You could share client testimonials after they’ve taken their trip. I would ask the if they are comfortable with you sharing this on your blog, and if they have any photos from their trip they would be open to letting you use on the post. You can always bring in some stock photos from the places they visited if they are not comfortable with their own pictures being used.
- For a Coaching: Client Transformations. This could be in the form of an actual testimonial from the client. It could also be from your perspective describing the journey they went through: what they came to you for, what they worked through, and where they are now. These can always be anonymous if the client does not want to be named. Of course always ask if they are comfortable with you sharing.
#2- Existing Social Content
If you’re newer to the blog, most likely you’re already creating content for social media. You can take an Instagram post (or Facebook post, newsletter email etc) and post the same content as a blog post.
Depending on the length of the post caption, you may need to expand on this topic a big more in the writing to fill up the blog post. You don’t want a 1 paragraph blog post!
But building off of existing content you have used elsewhere takes out the guess work in coming up with brand new ideas for the blog all the time.
#3- Answer Common FAQs
Are you getting asked the same questions on consult calls or when people reach out about working with you or buying from you?
Turn that into blog content!
Not only do you already know it’s relevant to your ideal client (they’re literally asking for it!) but it gives you more ideas that you don’t have to come up with on your own.
You can then share those blog posts onto social media, and/or link to them in emails and nurture sequences.
