Karen has always been enamored by World Travelers. Her father was an immigrant from Norway, and instilled in her a wanderlust that she can’t shake. She remembers as a young child sitting on the floor watching The King and I, wishing one day to see Thailand.
Karen is proud to say she has been to most of the places that entranced her as a child. She started her quest to be a world traveler as a high-school exchange student to Ecuador. After college she lived in Japan where she met her British husband. They married in Thailand 30 years ago before destination weddings were an industry. She has crossed China, Mongolia, and Russia on trains. She has slept over pigs in Nepal and saw Santa in Bali. Because of her Norwegian father, British husband and Italian in-laws, she feels like Europe is her personal backyard. Wisconsin is her home, but the world is her playground.
