Dr. Arriel Cymone received her first chemistry set when she was 7 years old. She would play with it in the driveway of their home. It amazed her how she could create something beautiful through chemical reactions.
Dr. Arriel’s love for chemistry has stood the test of time. She was a star chemistry student in high school, undergrad, and grad school. Her research included organic synthesis of nanoparticles for detection and treatment of diseases. This is also when she began formulating makeup with her college buddy.
She went on to have an amazing career in different areas of chemistry. She worked as a forensic chemist for the DEA. She has also worked in environmental, toxicology, and pharmaceutical laboratories.
