My little secret for the past few months is officially out there – I’m pregnant!
Our first baby is due early October and I wanted to share my experience with this first half of pregnancy with you – the good, the bad and the very surprising moments.
To be totally honest – I’ve never considered myself a “kid person”. I didn’t have dreams of babies, as many of my friends started to have in their late 20’s. Where many other women flock over to the cute babies or young kids to cuddle and play, I was across the room… minding my own business… with the adults. My nurturing instincts where happily being used for our dog Luna.
Even though I knew SOMEDAY I wanted to have kids – there was NO clock ticking for me. Besides that voice in my ear saying my eggs were getting old – which was my mother on every other phone call together.
Let’s just say – the news we were given early this year was definitely a surprise!
Pregnancy is such a sensitive and emotional subject though, and the journey is so different for everyone.
There are those people where it all seems to be so perfectly planned. The ones who have been trying for years and are struggling. The ones who go for alternative options. The ones who find themselves expecting who never thought they’d go down that route. The ones where it feels like the worst timing.
All our experiences and feelings are valid- no matter what your road looks like.
